Hanging Your Christmas Tree

Hanging your Christmas Tree

Christmas time is here, and at Artefact Design and Salvage, we have a creative idea for your Christmas Tree! Why don’t you get it off the floor? You are probably wondering what we mean by this, so allow us to explain.

Every year, as the season approaches we all consider doing something new with our decorations. We pull down the boxes from the attic and attempt to mix up the usual suspects from outdoor Christmas lights to indoor nutcrackers. After checking out this year’s selection of Christmas ornaments and trying to mix things up, one thing always remains the same: the Christmas Tree.

The iconic Christmas tree is the one essential decoration piece that requires its own dedicated territory. We shuffle the furniture around to accommodate it. We worry that the cats will knock it over, or the kids will break those collectible ornaments! Couches and tables are moved to create space for it. Wouldn’t it be easier to get it up off the floor?

Putting it up on a table solves some of the problems, but better than that, why not mount it on the wall? Think of it like a TV. We would often rather mount that on the wall to clear up space, so why not take that approach with something that takes up even more room, like the Christmas tree?

If you want to change things up this year and make a decor statement with your Christmas tree, read on! Artefact has some exclusive tips to help you safely and masterfully hang your tree.

How to Hang the Tree Using Modular Devices by Artefact

Artefact Design and Salvage’s vast array of wall mounts make excellent options for mounting your Christmas tree. Installing wall mounts is a great way to feature your rustic Christmas tree and coordinated Christmas ornaments. Our wall mounts pave the way for practical and artistic decoration with a variety of options for your holiday decor:

This mount is ideal for holding branches, vases, and sculptures. In the context of Christmas, it can hold tinsels, wreaths, boughs, garlands, or other small Christmas decorations to beautify your home during the holiday season. This option has a telescopic rod and hidden screws that can hold the decor pieces securely in place with a minimalistic design that will not detract from your display. This is a great option for a small Christmas tree or smaller holiday decor items.

  • Wall Mount Starter

This mount option includes a powder-coated steel shelf and an arm-length clamp. It is perfect for staging multiple items like an average-sized decorated Christmas tree alongside a couple of smaller items, such as poinsettia plants or wreaths. It also has Artefact’s signature rod and a clamp to properly secure displays. If you’re using a bottle or a pot as a vessel for decor, you may need to choose one with a prominent lip so that the clamp will hold it properly.

If you’re planning to create a museum-inspired Christmas tree display, you should consider installing a Wall Mount Tree Kit. This collection includes two of our Wall Mounts, a Heavy-Duty Powder Coated Steel Shelf, and a 5” Round Glass Vase. This kit is perfect for making sure your decorated Christmas tree is extra secure or hanging a couple of holiday items. Plus, once the holidays are over, you can use the kit to mount another branch or natural material of your choice for year-round decor.

 Benefits

Artefact Design and Salvage’s wall mount provide a range of benefits for your home. Generally used as a device for aesthetic purposes, our wall mounts also offer other advantages, including the following:

  • They maximize space.

Our wall mounts allow you to take advantage of wall spaces typically used for paintings and framed displays. This allows you to use the extra floor space for other purposes, such as for furniture, fixtures, or extra space for your holiday guests. Freeing up the floor space opens up the room and can make it appear larger.

  • They offer flexible mounting possibilities.

Since most of our mounts use hidden screws and telescopic rods, you can install them in any position you want. Our inconspicuous mounts allow you to be in charge of where and how will you display your decor. You can also combine multiple mounts and styles to create dynamic displays in one area or coordinate displays in one room.

  •  They fit any space.

Artefact Wall Mounts fit any wall, regardless of their size, shape, and texture. Because of this, you can mount your Christmas tree on any wall or partition inside your home. Even if your space is limited, you can still find creative ways to squeeze in your favorite Christmas ornaments. Our products will fit virtually anywhere you plan to put up a hanging Christmas tree.

Which Wood Will Make Your Christmas Tree Extra Creative

While there are many types of Christmas trees to choose from, a foolproof choice is to start with the commonly used and easy-to-decorate trees. Make sure to consider their weight and size to ensure they fit in the clamps. The following are some of the most popular trees used as Christmas trees.

  • White Spruce

This is the perfect option for you if you love to decorate with light and ornaments. The white streaks on the needles of this tree catch the lights for even more glow. Whether you set this tree perpendicularly or horizontally, it will look beautiful. Choose carefully between the screws and clamps as you may find this tree a little heavier than others.

  • Fir

If you prefer a traditional conical tree shape and a slightly upward angle, a fir is what you are looking for. It may also scent your home with its unique fragrance. Fir species are generally durable and may have a longer lifespan when compared to the other options.

  •  Pine

Pines’ color ranges from blue-green to deep-green foliage. This complements the lighting typically applied to it when decorated. If you’re planning to add lights around the tree, this is a top-notch option for you. For a more minimalistic and eco-friendly option, cut and display just a few select branches from a larger living tree.

Final Thoughts

With the minimalist movement gaining popularity in the last few years, installing wall mounts is both a popular style choice and a great way to maximize your space. This season, mount your Christmas tree and ornaments for an updated and polished look. Purchasing Artefact wall mounts is an excellent first step toward an elegant and high-quality Christmas tree display.

When choosing a wall mount, you first consider the stem and weight of the Christmas tree. If it is heavy, you may need to opt for using plates and clamps rather than wood screws.

To be safe, choose and cut branches that are within the carrying capacity of the mounts and clamps. This way, you’ll be sure that the mounted objects will be secure. After choosing the product and branch that match, you can start installing the mount using the insights from this article. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of the season in your beautifully decorated home.
