Made from antique rice pounders, these oversize chains have the rustic patina developed over many years of outdoor use. An integral part of processing the rice harvest and often kept for generations, rice pounders are now being tossed onto the scrap heap; an outdated technology. Dave collects them from all over Java (see photos) and then works with a small Balinese workshop to give them new life.

• Always five links, they vary from roughly 24” to 38” in length, and the link diameter is usually around 14”

• A great rustic object for high shelves, or as a table centerpiece.
